Gangs thrive on fear They get notoriety from all the stories in the media about all the ugly things they do to other human beings. They use their high public profile to disrepute to let other gangs and the public know, “This is our territory, and if you come here, the same thing will happen to you!” What you need to understand is that these gangs want to make a name for themselves at your expense, if you give them the opportunity.
Sometimes a gang member will try to bait people by flashing their car lights at you, for example. If you flash back, if you flash back you immediately become their next target. They will turn around, follow you and try ti stop you, with the intent of assaulting you or damaging your car and comprising your resident safety.
There are several stereotypes of gang members that can be misleading . You may think from watching television that they only wear baggy pants, T-shirts, bandannas, over sized NFL jacket, and sport lots of tattoos. Sure, some do; but others are clean shaven and well dressed , and their long sleeved shirts my hide their tattoos, you just can’t tell by what someone is wearing if they are a gang member or not .
It is still true that many gangs mark the their territory with graffiti on the sides of buildings and sidewalks. If you see such signs in an an area unfamiliar with you, beware!
While we are discussing gangs, let’s talk about gang shoppers. This guys can particularly hurt your resident safety. There are gangs who shop for he right victim. “its not that they are seeking out a specific age or a specific nationality (although many of them are targeting woman and vice versa.) they are l
ooking for anyone who fits the fits category they have conceived in their minds as their next victim.
