Drugs have become an unfortunate part of life in just about every community in the United States. They are easily available to adults and minors .Drugs can be in your community and destroy your resident safety Many students-from grade school to high school- go to high on everything from marijuana to cocaine, acid (LSD), Oxycontin (oxycodone) and many more here. Various date rape drugs have been part of singles scene ofr some time. The parts of town where narcotics are sold are often high crimes areas, and avoiding them is the best way to stay safe.
All to often, the problem is closer to home. Even if you’ve made sure that your home is safe, you should not take for granted that your child won’t encounter drugs in school or when she visits friends or classmates.
In one instance, we were called to a house where a little girl on a visit had become very sick . When we and the EMS crew arrived, we discovered that she had that she had been given a sexual stimulate drug by the uncle of her girlfriend. His attention was to rape the little girl without her being able to remember what had happened to her, but her plan backfired when he gave her to much. She ha to be rushed to the hospital and her stomach had to be pumped. Needless to say, the uncle was caught. But how many others fall victim to such crimes and have no recourse?
The first time your child is asked to sleep over at a friends house for a slumber party, meets the parents and stay in close contact with her- cell phones are quite useful in these situations. Make sure that there are arrangements to have her picked up immediately and returned home if she feels unsafe for any reason.
