(KMOV) – Charges were issued against one suspect following a home invasion in Olivette Monday morning. Two suspects remain at-large

On Tuesday, Devontez Talley of St. Louis was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary.

According to police, the robbery happened at 4 Beechmont Ct. around 10:30 a.m. The victims, a middle-aged woman and her elderly mother, were backing out of their garage when their car was surrounded by four men. Police say two of the men were armed with handguns.

According to Sgt. David Wolf with the Olivette Police Department, the suspects reportedly ordered the women to get out of the vehicle and go back into the home and the victims complied.

At that time, police say, the suspects demanded cash and valuables from the victims. As the victims began handing over jewelry to the suspects, the elderly woman got an opportunity to escape.

Police say she alerted neighbors to call 911 when she ran outside and began screaming.

“It was just spur of the moment. She saw a moment where she could run out, so she ran out of the house and screamed for help,” said Sgt. David Wolf.

Police say the attack was not random and that the victims were specifically targeted.

Three of the suspects were able to flee in a vehicle before authorities arrived. No word on a vehicle description at this time.

Another suspect fled on foot but was later captured by authorities more than a mile from the scene. The victims and witnesses identified him as a suspect even though he did not have any stolen property on him at the time of the arrest.

The victims were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The middle-aged woman was reportedly hit on the head with a butt of a handgun during the incident.

“They(the victims) acted accordingly. They didn’t do anything to upset the suspects in any nature. They cooperated with what the demands of the suspects were,” said Wolf.

Authorities said the suspects did not attempt to conceal their identity during the robbery although suspect descriptions were not available.

The identities of the remaining suspects were revealed to authorities but further details were not released.

Bond for Talley was set at $100,000.
