The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department responded to two home invasions in Antelope in a span of 30 minutes Monday night.
The first call came at 8:55 p.m. from the 8100 block of Ackerson Way. A male resident reported two men armed with guns entered his home through a garage door, which he had left open when he went inside to take a break from doing chores outside. The men, whom victims estimated to be in their 20s, held residents at gunpoint while they robbed the home.
Public information officer Sgt. Lisa Bowman said detectives had not yet determined the value of items taken.
The next call came at 9:21 p.m. from the 7500 block of La Tour Drive, about 2 miles away from the site of the first home invasion. A woman called to report that four men armed with guns had followed a member of her family into their home when he was taking out the garbage. The four men held the family at gunpoint while they took items that included electronics. The caller told police she did not know whether the suspects fled on foot or in a vehicle.
Bowman said the family had estimated the men to be between the ages of 15 to 19, indicating that they may be juveniles. The men were not wearing masks.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
Officers spent at least 90 minutes canvassing the area around the home on La Tour Drive, but did not locate any witnesses, Bowman said.
Given the timing, proximity and similar nature of the calls, Bowman said it is possible they are related. Detectives are investigating.
