CLEVELAND, Ohio — U.S. Marshals on Tuesday arrested the suspected getaway driver in a December home invasion that ended with one suspect dead and two others charged with the murder of their accomplice.
Lee Collins, 26, was taken into custody about 9 a.m. at a home on the 400 block of East 120th Street, according to U.S. Marshals.
He was charged in December with the murder of accomplice Robert L. Brown, officials said.
Collins is accused of waiting outside a Rudyard Road home on Dec. 17 while suspects Brown, 20, and Willie R. Riley, 27, went inside to rob the resident.
Resident Everton Mosby, 24, told police the two suspects beat and pistol-whipped him until he was able to grab hold of his gun and pull the trigger.
U.S. Marshals said they believe Collins ditched his cohorts when he heard shots fired.
Brown died at the scene from gunshot wounds. Riley was shot in the knee and survived the incident.
Riley is also charged with Brown’s murder, according to court records.
