Girlfriend accused of aiding home-invasions suspect
Prosecutors have charged the girlfriend of a suspect in two October home invasions with helping him avoid arrest.
Sierra White is charged with assisting a criminal, a Class C felony, for allegedly helping Adrian Anthony evade police after a warrant was issued for his arrest Nov. 18, according to Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry.
While Anthony was being sought, he fatally shot a man Nov. 27 in an unrelated robbery attempt on North Gray Street, prosecutors say.
Police were looking for Anthony for his alleged involvement in two home invasions, one on Spring Mill Road and the other on East 79th Street.
He was taken into custody Nov. 30 after he and others led police on a car chase that ended in his arrest, authorities said.
White is the 12th person charged in connection with the two home invasions. Charges against five of the suspects involve assisting the suspects accused of carrying out the robberies.
White is expected to appear for an initial hearing in Marion Superior Court later this week. She faces a possible sentence of two to eight years in prison if convicted.
Anthony is charged with murder and robbery in the North Gray Street shooting.
He faces 75 charges — including rape, battery, criminal confinement and carjacking — in the two October home invasions.
In both cases, prosecutors allege Anthony and others broke into and ransacked the homes, terrorized their owners and stole cars. Two females were sexually assaulted in one home.
The other suspect in the North Gray Street shooting death, Christopher Bell, 17, was arrested in Terre Haute earlier this month and brought back to Indianapolis. He has been charged as an adult.
