Pregnant Woman Assaulted during Home Invasion
Des Moines police arrested two men reportedly involved in an east side home invasion.
Jacob Douglas Phillips, 26, of Carlisle, and Tyler Michael Moore, 23, of Des Moines, were charged with first-degree burglary. A third, still unidentified, suspect remains at large.
The home invasion reportedly occurred Friday afternoon in the 2900 block of East Walnut Street.
Two women were in the home when three men wearing hoods and masks walked into the house, shoved one of the women and punched the other one.
They ordered the women, one of whom was pregnant, to keep their heads down and covered as two of the suspects ransacked the house and the third stood at the door.
They again punched one of the victims when they realized she was dialing 911, then smashed electronics on the ground and fled.
One of the woman described one of the suspects as a friend.
Phillips and Moore were arrested Wednesday and remain in the Polk County Jail with no bond.
The arrests come a day after police made an arrest in another home invasion from the same weekend.
Jason Scott Pierce, 30, of Des Moines, was arrested Tuesday in connection to a Friday home invasion in the 2200 block of East Hart Avenue. Police are still working to find additional suspects in that case.
