PHOENIX - Four suspects are on the loose after attacking a family in their Phoenix home on Wednesday.

According to Phoenix police, the home invasion happened early Wednesday morning near 21st Street and McDowell Road.

Four Hispanic males all dressed in black made entry into the home after kicking in a door, police said.

Once inside the home, the suspects threatened a 53-year-old female, 22-year-old female and a 15-year-old boy.

According to police, the 53-year-old woman was hit in the head with the butt of a gun. She was transported to the hospital for her injuries.

The 22-year-old was dragged out of her room and the 15-year-old was held at gunpoint while the suspects went through the home taking phones, money and a lap top. The suspects also kept demanding money and drugs.

The suspects attempted to shoot a dog inside the home, but the gun jammed.

Police are still investigating if the family was targeted or if it was the wrong house.

The residents inside the home told police they did not know the suspects.

According to police, it seems like a random act of violence. There was no evidence of drug activity at the home.
