Burglars fatally stab dog during home invasion
PHOENIX (WABC) - Police in Arizona are looking for burglars who broke into a Phoenix home, ransacked the place and killed the family dog for no reason.
The heartless burglars ripped apart Kimberly Mims’ home while she was at work Wednesday, and before they left, they stabbed the family’s 3-year-old shih tzu Ka Nuckles as it sat in its kennel.
Then used a samurai sword owned by the family, then put the dog in a closet.
“Why did you have to do that?” she asked. “You can come in here and you can take anything. I’m just so glad that my son wasn’t here, and I’m glad that I wasn’t here.”
The family’s TV is gone, and garage boxes were ransacked. The refrigerator and pantry were raided, and all of Mims’ son’s clothes and shoes were taken. There was even vandalism — a big hole in the wall. It is all too much for the single mom.
“I’m a single mom,” she said. “I work hard and this is the first home that I’ve ever had. I work hard for, I mean, and for someone to come in and just violate me like this, like it’s just tearing me up in the inside.”
Now, she says all she wants is justice.”
My biggest fear is this happening to someone else, and it not being a dog but a person.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
