78-year-old Woman injured during home invasion
A 78-year-old woman was injured during a home invasion robbery early Friday, according to Channel 6 Action News.
It was about 2 a.m when a man broke into the residence in the 800 block of Wesley Avenue through a back window and proceeded to steal cash, authorities said.
The woman confronted the robber, who hit her in the head. The robber fled and the woman required medical treatment for a gash on the head.
Westville police, assisted by officers from nearby departments, a K-9 unit and investigators from the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, searched the area.
The broadcast report said a person of interest — not specifically a suspect — is in police custody.
