The Ultimate Lock series 3000 has an inch and a half main deadbolt, making it harder to pry open a door. The Ultimate Lock also has a secondary hardened security bar on the inside of the door making it even more difficult to pry open the door because they have to move two deadbolts. In addition to having an extra hardened cast iron deadbolt, the Ultimate Lock also comes with a specially engineered striker plate which is larger and heavier which makes it even harder to open the door. In addition the striker plate, the Ultimate lock is also armed with 2 three in a half inch screws which go into the door frame.
Can you just break the glass and open the lock?
Yes, you can. The Ultimate Lock was built as a tool to protect you and your family; and give you the time needed to get to a safe room and contact authorities to help you. However, the sound of the breaking glass is very loud and distinct. Upon hearing the sound of breaking glass, and seeing the intruder trying to open the lock, this shortens his chance of survival, and therefore giving you ample time to call the authorities.
